Wire: Issue 153
This issue of Wire features an in depth look at composer extraordinare Steve
Reich, an amusing anecdotal conversation with Roedelius of Kluster, and
Diamandas Galas taking a stab at the Wire jukebox. There are also a handful of
articles on such varied artists as David Tudor, Nico, Rome & Endemic Void as
well as the usual varied collection of music reviews. The most amusing section
of this particular issue of a look at the fictitious soundtrack phenomena with
Simon Fisher Turner. Wire seems to be making a big deal about artists composing
fictitious as the next big deal and they fail to forget about artists such as
Doubting Thomas pioneering this field almost a decade ago. I guess one can't
expect every music publication to be perfect.
