With this latest Tinty Music Noise Unit Kevin O'Connor exhibits his recent
fascination with Aube, Merzbow & Masonna. The tape opens with a show of
grinding white noise which slowly fades into assorted clicks and chirp only to
return to burning feedback once again. The rest of the tape variates between
harsh resonance and soothing turbulence. The most impressive thing about
Kevin's material is that he does an excellent job making the dissonance
relaxing to the ear rather that irritating by mastering at a volume lower than
normal. Also Kevin has a tendency to play with more conventional sources like
outputting an executable file to the audio device on a computer as on
"Executable #2" & "Executable #3". Samples such as those make the computer geek
in me shiver in delight and encourage me to run out and dump a core file to the
sound card on my own computer for fun.
