Spilt Tears is a band trying to make the most out of limited technology. It's
music, while being extremely sparse and simplistic at times, does its best to
exceed the physical constraints of it's own recording devices. Most prominent
is the use of sampling to construct an inordinately large percentage of
programming and note structure. No preprogrammed sounds are used on the
tape at all. As for the vocals, they are held low over the music and are of the
usual industrial preoccupation with having little to do with actual context of
music. The common themes of love, hate and self pity are beaten to death by the
lyrics. Overall nothing spectacular or new, just a guy trying to express his
personal frustrations and experiences though his music without having to settle
for sounding like every other band utilizing the same schtick.
