Project Pitchfork returns to Metropolis with the domestic release of 1995's
"Alpha Omega" which exhibits improved contiguity from "Io". A portion of this
could be attributed to the fact that Spilles appears to have written the entire
album himself. He certainly enjoys large string sections and nonsensical
lyrics, that much is certain, yet, as inane as the lyrical content might be, it
flows quite well witwithh the music. Spilles voice harmonizes well with the
programming, especially on tracks where percussion is kept to a minimum,
whereas, on those tracks that use sampled snares and hi-hats, he modifies his
vocals to suit the music. The whole album then focuses on the "Alpha Omega"
title concept which is executed brilliantly alongside all of the other
elements. Project Pitchfork has certainly released quite a masterpiece that
still sounds fresh even if it is three years old.
