Nimpf is the new side project from the key members of Luxt. As with their
predecessor project to Luxt, Immedia, this project is guitar free and totally
electronic. Also of note is the lack of Erie's vocal contributions, instead
Anna has been given the sole vocal duty for this project. The mood tone of the
music has taken on a more personal, dare I say, provocative sound to it. Tracks
like 'Feed' could almost be Pop Ballads if some of the more dissonant sound
elements were removed. Overall, the demo has a very funky groove to it,
likening the release to other electronic acts with a recognized rhythm like
Portishead or Tricky. Yet, Nimpf really doesn't sound like either act except
for catchiness of the rhythm, a few incidences of scratching, and a groove that
urges the body to dance. Nimpf is certainly a very different project than it's
parent Luxt, which should please many who are critical of Luxt's aggressive
style, since Nimpf sheds all the hostility in favor of harmony.
