Just when you thought noone else could imitate Depeche Mode, Good Courage comes
along and tries really hard to sound just like them. Albeit it is only for
several tracks out of fourteen but the lead singer is a dead ringer for Alan
Wilder on those tracks. The remainder of the album then swerves off the
synth-pop highway and meanders along a much harsher electronic overpass. Aside
from the aforementioned influence the bad avoids sounding like anyone else and
performs an efficient job of developing a variance of caustic electro which
skirts the edge of synth-pop like an oscillating sound wave overlapping at
various junctures of the musical spectrum. However there doesn't seem to be any
particular concrete directional flow of the music, nothing that make it stand
out from the burgeoning electronic scene apart from it's synth-pop background.
And so Good Courage remains a minor reflective surface in room full of floor
length mirrors.
