Although quite obviously a gothic act, Fade has the annoying problem of
sounding like an easy listening act from time to time. The last thing one would
expect when listening to a traditional electro gothic act is to have someone
sounding like Michael Bolton crooning over the music. Don't get me wrong, the
lead vocalist's range is dynamic, but it is still rather unnerving at times.
Musically the band isn't crossing into any new territory, but rather rehashing
the popular guitar, drums, keyboard approach. The end result is a very straight
forward album with no real surprises or intricacies that would allow them to
stick out from the crowd. Of course the vocalist will always have the option of
singing love ballads to overage women if he ever gets bored with this
particular project.
