Bagman is the first side project of Lee Frasier, best known for the haphazard
electronic mayhem of Sheep on Drugs. This time around he has decided to drop
the Acid House influences for more straight forward Drum'n'Bass. Lee also
enlists the aid of someone named Thigahmahjiggee who handles all of the sparse
vocal work on this seven track debut album "Wrap". While the music isn't
your typical regurgitated Drum'n'Bass percussion, most of the album it a bit
repetitive. My key complaint with the whole Drum'n'Bass movement is
that most bands choise sampled percussion that is limited at best and Bagman is
no exception. It is really hard to get into the music when the entire song
loops the same breakbeat from the previous track. While Bagman is slightly more
innovative in it's use of timing changes and rapid speed swings, it is still
more suited for a live setting than a studio medium.
