Proven in Action is a domestic reissue of a 1990 concert that took place in
Montreal, Canada. This concert consisted of some of the more classical Test
Dept. material. Not only were compositions taken from Pax Britannica, but there
is a great deal of new material as well. As usual all of the lyrics are
extremely political with a single minded focus on England. Throughout the years
Test Dept. have always been very vocal about the working class struggle to
survive. This topic is heavily explored along with plenty of patriotic imagery
throughout the album. Obviously most of the events mentioned in the vocals
would make more sense if you were born in Great Britan, but general concepts
are presented rather effectively. If you are a fan of the live Test Dept.
complete with bagpipes, organs, a live choir, and classical accompaniment then
you will want look into this album.
